WHEN DID I START SINGING?

Lots of singers say “I started singing before I could talk”. But I was far too shy to sing in my younger years. I loved music and dancing and would regularly put Kylie or Madonna on my record player and make my family watch me perform in the lounge! But never outside of the house.

To overcome the shyness and encourage my performing interest, my parents sent me to performing arts classes. Although I was still very shy, after the first performance there, I was hooked.

I trained in acting when I left School at and would sing in musical theatre shows. I was asked to sing at an anniversary party of my best friend and I absolutely loved it. I decided that, alongside acting and voiceover work, I wanted to start to get more solo singing gigs. Since that point, 20 years ago, I have sung at many different parties, charity events and weddings; sung a musical theatre style song for the Video Game ‘Not For Broadcast’ and was honoured to be asked to sing the heartbreaking ‘Loren’s Song’ for The Breck Foundation which is available to download on iTunes. I also adore singing in care homes and regularly sing in homes around Surrey and Sussex.

I am also in a 7 piece 70s & 80s band, Hooky -  www.hookyband.com
